A new “designer cuisine” restaurant has recently opened, pitching a tailored approach to its particular customers, with the use of seasonal products being very much the hallmark for the dining experience. Project Comi 107 is that of Federico Comi and his wife Tiani Taurisano.
The place itself is cosy and welcoming; the cuisine is Italian, and focusses especially on seafood, while remaining open to influences and techniques learned by Federico over years spent in other kitchens around the world. There is a short à la carte selection with emphasis placed on off-menu specials and a tasting menu, accompanied by a unique wine list. Federico Comi trained abroad, in England, Colorado and Mexico. In Italy, he has plied his trade at the Savini with Christian Magri and Matteo Torretta, who he worked for over a period of four years on the Fifth Floor project at the Gran Visconti Palace in Milan.
He went on to take on the Osteria del Brunello, and worked as consultant for the same group for the Bento and Matcha Café. For her part, Tiani is the attentive and welcoming face managing the dining hall. The menu relies on seasonal products and daily buying.
