Studio Zero

They met in an architectural studio and in 2015 set up Studio Zero, a multidisciplinary space based in Como that offered them both the opportunity to fully express their own particular skills and passions. Anna comes from the world of antique furniture restoration and interior design, going on to study product design, while Maria Francesca’s background was a long training in art, followed by a move into design.

The visual impact and the strong signatures of their projects clearly identifies the work of their studio and the personalities of the two souls that animate it. Output ranges from interiors to furnishing accessory pieces and from communication to visual design.

In addition to their work for companies, they have also recently embarked on another adventure, this time freed from the constraints of commissions, with special edition Studio Zero products. “Perhaps this moment in history could seem hostile to the exploring of new paths, but we are convinced that there is now more than ever a need to create objects that are able to establish a relationship with people and to have a real meaning for them.

The importance of the home space has at this time become abundantly clear; our desire has been to create objects to get attached to, as if they were contemporary domestic stories to accompany us through life, populating our world and enriching it with symbols and charm”. In addition to the Menadi vases and the Madrepora trays, exhibited at Edit Napoli, other Studio Zero creations are already planned, with the involvement of artisans, craftsmen and professionals of the region. “We will never cease to be proactive (...), and trust in the future, convinced that the creation of beauty, value and poetry is the best nourishment for the soul”.
