Where to Sleep

Villa Lario

When classic Italian architecture meets modern standards of luxury, the result is a quite unique harmony. This is the vision that underlay the renovation of Villa Lario, an exclusive location on the shores of Lake Como, where the experience enjoyed by the guest is wholly thoroughly authentic. The entire complex is much more than just a historic villa, it is made up of several buildings, each of which has its own unique character and sits in perfect dialogue with its surroundings. The whole is set in two hectares of private gardens that face the lake.

The Palazzo is a classic 19th-century lakefront villa. It has been completely restored with the skill of local craftsmen, using Castagna 1939 for the furnishings, Fantini for the bathroom details and finishing, and Carelli’s delicate restoration work of the fresco in the loggia. Special consideration has been given to the local community, bringing to the fore the building’s most distinctive features and aspects, while making them known to an international audience. Here modernity and historicity are combined in the spacious living areas as well as in the various suites. The reception area and its terrace are also perfect places to relax, for each in their own way, whether with an afternoon read, or with a drink in hand at the end of the day, while the spaces themselves are also suitable for private events.

Villa Bianca is the first building that comes into view when arriving from the scenic lake road. Perched on a cliff, it overlooks the lake and its orientation offers a splendid view of sun-blessed scenery all day long. To stay at Villa Bianca means to enjoy a home-from-home experience, thanks to its clean and welcoming design. Within the building, there is also the Villa Lario restaurant, which overlooks a large dining terrace and the garden, where breakfast is served.

In addition to Villa Bianca, the Pavilion, the part most hidden from view, is itself a private detached villa of 120 square metres directly overlooking the lake. Needless to say, this location provides quite breath-taking views. Fully restored period charm here combines with the most modern standards of hospitality, as the Pavilion offers privacy and silence, which have to be regarded as the real luxuries of our times. Finally, there is a delightful Garden Suite at Villa Lario, an independent residence immersed in the greenery of the historic garden. More compact and intimate, it is the perfect hideaway for a romantic and relaxing weekend.

Whether the guest decides to spend time at Villa Bianca's hanging gardens, or to read a book in the shade of the centuries-old cedars or perhaps to plunge into the 20-metre infinity pool, this place can assure a sense of peace and serenity away from the stresses of everyday life.
