Bellagio Sailing

Bellagio Sailing came into being 2016 out of the passion for sailing of the founder member Carlo Tettamanzi. Aged just twenty-two he decided to pass up on the career prospects offered by a law degree and went into the world of sailing. After much experience as a skipper plying routes in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean with private individuals, ship owners and charter companies, he finally the return to fresh water and the mooring quay of Bellagio.

Since Bellagio Sailing's first year in 2017, the business has expanded to become the go-to enterprise for tourists and enthusiasts who wish to experience the beauty of the lake in authentic and exclusive ways. Three sailboats are available to clients; the Dama di Bellagio, a vintage wooden boat with classic lines, and suitable for small groups; the Stai Serena, designed by Philippe Starck and Pininfarina, which is perfect for family outings; Bowie, the latest addition and the true flagship of Bellagio Sailing, and finally the motorboat called Cigno.

The range of services offered is wide and varied, as each tour can be customised to the client's individual needs as regards both the times and the itineraries. In addition to the traditional sightseeing tours with on-board aperitifs, Carlo and his team propose true experiential tours such as the Wedding Tour, the Instagram Tour, and “a beautiful movie set” to discover the most famous villas and such hidden pearls of Lake Como as Varenna, Orrido di Nesso, Villa La Gaeta, Villa Carlotta, and the renowned Villa del Balbianello. Worthy of special mention are also the tours with wine-tasting in the company of professional sommeliers, and the tours with massage included to ensure clients can enjoy a truly relaxing break in the beautiful setting of the lake.

All staff members are profoundly knowledgeable about the lake and its history and speak fluent English, so can host both local and international visitors with ease. Bellagio Sailing's office, set in a picturesque garden just a stone's throw from the lake, also serves as an information centre and reception area for those who wish to relax while preparing to set off to explore the Como area.
