CoCo

CoCo is the signature cocktail glass from the creative team of Amaro Seta. Made of blown glass by Venetian master craftsmen, it is a tribute to Lake Como and the steamships that have plied its waters. In cross-section the glass recalls the boats’ funnels, and its name, CoCo, is a tribute to the steamship Patria, which was used on the Como to Colico route in its last years of service before it was finally decommissioned.

A reinterpretation of the classic tall tumbler, CoCo features a built-in straw that plugs into the bottom of the main cylinder, making sustainability another key aspect of its design. This unique feature has extended the creative horizons of the art of cocktail making by opening up new tasting experiences at the service of the best bartenders' repertoires. CoCo plays an essential role in the 'Vico', a cocktail based on Amaro Seta made by brand ambassador Gabriele Contatore of the Mandarin Oriental in Como. The name is a tribute to Ludovico Sforza, who got the nickname 'Il Moro' (from 'murum', a dialect term for mulberry) when he decided to grow mulberries to feed the silk worms used for the Lake Como area’s production of this fabric.

CoCo is part of Amaro Seta's broader cultural and production project for the development of objects, ideas and events inextricably linked to silk and Como. As architects and designers, the primary interest of the founder members has been to use the amaro liqueur as a vehicle for telling the story of a local culture that is still very thriving today. As a way of promoting and encouraging awareness of the educational value of the Museo della Barca Lariana, (the Lario boating museum), a free ticket to the museum comes with each CoCo glass purchased.
