Macchina Gialla Rent came out of the desire of four young entrepreneurs, Anastasia, Elvira, Antonio and Savino, to have people discover, or rediscover, the beauty of the lake while driving an authentic Italian icon. The aim is to provide customers with a unique, fun and carefree experience, whether for a wedding, for a romantic getaway or on a trip with friends. Travelling in a vintage Fiat 500 means living and breathing a piece of Italian history in this extraordinarily beautiful natural setting.
The small fleet consists of Gina and Berta. Gina is a 500 made in 1972, while Berta is a 500L of 1970. "Gina, with her bright Positano yellow can never fail to be noticed when on the streets. How could we not have chosen her?" says Anastasia. "Berta, on the other hand, was our Dad Mario's jewel, that shared with him all his youthful adventures. It would seem its deep blue with red interiors swept many a girl of their feet!"
A typical rental is for five hours and each car can seat up to three passengers. The customer can book the car from different platforms, and it takes just a few steps to be ready to embark on an unforgettable journey into the past. "We at Macchina Gialla Rent offer a complete itinerary of exploration of Lake Como on both shores," explains Anastasia. A route of about 65 km means starts from Como, heading towards Menaggio to then pass through the most romantic villages on the lake, including Cernobbio, Moltrasio, Nesso, Argegno and Cadenabbia. Taking the ferry, guests can also enjoy a typical boat trip, an experience made special by the panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Docking at Bellagio, its majestic villas, gardens and picturesque alleyways can be viewed before finally getting back on board for a relaxing return journey.
