At the time, the plan was to acquire some terraces for cultivation, but the project finally led to the establishment of the farm business we now see called Agriturismo Treterre. The name comes from the location, which at one time embraced several separate small villages overlooking the lake which then became united under the same name of Treterre.
Today the farm extends over an area of about 3 hectares of cultivated land and forest. The land cultivated here by the founders and employees of Treterre produces fruit, including blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, olive trees for oil, corn, potatoes, salads and seasonal vegetables, not to mention the hives for local honey production. For more than ten years, every product has been certified as organic. In addition to the shop, where you can buy these products, Treterre is also a farmhouse and a restaurant open to the public that seats 25 people.
It is easy to get to Pianello del Lario by bus and ferry from Menaggio, not far from Agriturismo Treterre. A long lakeside walk connects the three adjacent villages of Cremia, Pianello and Musso.
